'Tis Post #6

Quote: The other students are looking at me and whispering to each other and I don't know whether they're sneering at me or admiring me.

Response: I felt sorry for Frank. I hate it when people are so insecure they take it out on others. He didn't give us much detail but it could be both.

Significance: I think this quote is significant because it shows how the reader lets you imagine on your own if the people are sneering or admiring, but from the quote, "Page: 226
They whispered to each other, they looked at me, laugh, whispered again and I'm sorry I ever set foot on state island." I see it as them laughing at him.

Question: Will he ever become assertive?

Quote #2: I never thought college would be all numbers and letters and grades and averages and people putting me on probation.

Response: There is this naive side of Frank that makes me feel so very sorry for him. Sometimes I wonder if he is a little slow. Of course college is a big surprise but he is so NAIVE!

Significance: he still struggles because people criticizes him and so a lot of people don't respect him. Also it showed that he does not dress like regular Americans because he is still in costume in how he used to dress before.

Question: What do you think Frank would do if he lost his temper?

Quote#1: Yah I agree with you about feeling bad for Frank because they were probubly making fun of him and just not telling him.

Question #1: I think Frank will because he will start getting used to the culture here and so he wont be that different.

Quote#2: Yah he is still native to his country because school in his country was different from school over in America.

Question #2: I think he will start yelling and cusing but if he does that he will probubly not beable to go to school so he has to keep his cool.

Quote #1: I think that those kids were making fun of him. Frank is very persecuted for his race, beliefs, and opinions. I feel sorry for him too, but he should suck it up because he's in America and he is very privileged.

Question #1: I don't think he will ever become "assertive", but he might become more tough, and put up with crud.

Quote #2: I guess he's naive. H e is slow if you ask me, though. In Limerick, everything is laid-back and slow (like California), when New York is "snap-snap" and fast. People who are used to places like Limerick are not so fast s New Yorkers.

Question #2: I don't think he would do anything violent, he might say "some words," but he can control his fists.
