TKAM from the perspective of Jem

Why do all the deadly stuff evolved around me? That's my question. First it was tapping the Radley place, then it was Scout rolling on to the Radley yard, then it was us being shot at by the Boo, in addition to that, my pants get caught on the fence. The bad stuff evolves around Boo too though, but that’s because he’s to creepy. Scouts the kind of kid that's easily persuaded and amused. So I try to invent new games for us to play. But suddenly we end up being caught. It sucks, y'know. Sometimes Atticus can be a real jerk. Sometimes I wonder, why does I have to be the oldest, and take responsibility? But then at other times, it saves me time to think of things to do.

One day, the creepiest thing happened. I remember waking up to a dark cloud. The cloud had this intensity to suffocate. Atticus came and got me up and we went and got Scout up too. Atticus led us outside and we were to stand out near the Radley gate. The first thing that came to mind was, Oh here we go! I guess I was expecting more out of Atticus. To know already how scared we are of him. I guess our lies had paid off.

As we watched the flames lick Ms. Maudies house silly, I felt a gentle touch, on my shoulders. Could have been a plant, a leaf. By the time the fire was handled, my and Scout was walking home with a thick blanket wrapped around us.

Hey its ben I really enjoyed your blog post because what I read it really showed that you were reading and most importantly catching how the characters reacted and there emotions. For example I liked when you wrote in the second paragraph when you woke up you described all the details.
